Where and when is the Easter Egg Hunt?

Recreation Park in Binghamton.  The Easter Egg Hunt always occurs on the Saturday before Easter (Saturday, 3/30/24).

What time does it start?

The event goes from 10am – Noon, but the Easter Egg Hunt begins at 11am.

Are there different age categories?

YES. There are three separate egg hunts in different areas of the park: Ages 3 and under; Ages 4-7; and Ages 8-10.  Parents are only allowed to join children ages 3 and under.

What is the cost?

The Easter Egg Hunt is 100% FREE!  All food, prizes, and candy are FREE!

Is there parking?

There are two parking lots at Rec Park, in addition to many side streets.  They will fill quickly!  If you live near the park we recommend walking if the weather is nice.

What’s in the eggs?

All eggs will contain candy or prize tickets –if you get a prize ticket, redeem it for a prize of your choice at the prize tent!

Should we bring Easter Baskets?

Yes, please! 

Will the Easter Bunny be there?

YES!  The Easter Bunny will be on hand all morning to greet guests and pose for photos.

What else can we expect?

The Carousel will be OPEN!  Plus Music from Louie G!  Food, 30,000 Easter Eggs, and prizes!

Is it safe?

YES! We have law enforcement on hand, and many volunteers.

What if it rains or snows?

Unless there is thunder & lightning, this is an all-weather event!  Dress warmly if it’s cold or bring an umbrella if it rains.

What is Give Back Friday?

A day full of giving back to our community in an effort to help families in need have a memorable holiday season. There are both daytime and nighttime events.  The daytime event takes place at Mirabito and the nighttime event takes place at the Old Union Hotel.  We are fortunate to partner with both businesses.

When is Give Back Friday?

The Friday after Thanksgiving.  Every year, we work to change Black Friday to Give Back Friday!

Where can I make a toy donation?

At our daytime event between 11:00am-2:00pm at the Vestal Parkway Mirabito across from Target.  Toy donations are also accepted at the night time event at the Old Union Hall. 

What else happens at the daytime event?

Refreshments are offered along with a gas sale to all who are kind enough to make a donation.  SANTA is also there!  

Where does my toy donation go?

All toy donations are given to Broome County Toys for Tots.

What if I can't make a donation on that Friday?

Broome County Toys for Tots takes donations at anytime during the holiday season and are located at 243 Main Street in the former Johnson City Village Office.  The entrance is on the back of the building facing the municipal parking lot. 

What happens at the nighttime event?

Music, food/drinks, silent auctions, other raffles, and a live drawing for our Give Back Friday raffle winner!

What is the Give Back Friday raffle?

If you purchase a $100 ticket, you have the opportunity to win $5,000, $3,000, $1,000, or $500!  Only 200 tickets are sold.  The ticket also gets two people in to the night time event.

Where does my raffle ticket donation money go?

Money raised through the raffle helps additional families/individuals in need for the holiday season that may not be able to access Toys for Tots and it funds the biggest Easter Egg Hunt in Broome County that is completely free to the public!

Can I still come to the nighttime event if I didn't purchase a raffle ticket?

YES!  We ask for an unwrapped toy donation and $25 for anyone who has not purchased a raffle ticket but would still like to join in on the fun!
